Pictures of the Boy

Aidan is now 2 1/2 months old. His little personality is really starting to come out. He loves his mobile, snoopy, his sister (from a distance), and he loves it when you sing with him. He has such a big smile. Unfortunately, he is quite leery of the camera, and as soon as you try to get a picture his smile quickly turns. Nevertheless, and despite his recent balding, I think he is beautiful. Especially when he sleeps on his own!

Braids!

Everyone needs a change at some point. Nealy needed a change in her hair style. We tried braids, thinking they would fall out of her fine hair. To our surprise, they stayed in, and looked really cute! At least it gives us more options in the morning! She was very proud of them! They did look a lot better yesterday, this morning she didn't want me to touch them!

First Loves

Most know by now that Nealy loves her snoopy. In fact, she loves BOTH of her Snoopys. She is now making sure that Aidan loves his snoopy too.

Oliver Twist

Aidan was not happy at first...then he fell asleep like a good little pepper!

Yes, I said Oliver Twist. I was reminded of him yesterday over and over again. We took Nealy and Aidan (who was just along for the ride), trick-or-treating last night. Nealy was so good. She loved all the houses, jack-o-lanterns, and most importantly, the candy. She was very polite, answering questions and always saying thank you; however many houses were met with her "have some more", or "I need to get some more for my bucket". And they couldn't say no. Which brings me to my gripe for the day... No two year old needs a bucket of candy, Wes and I were fully aware of this, and had talked about how the candy would be distributed once Nealy was in bed. She got a good amount, and I was SO disappointed in the contents. There was not one tootsie roll, no skittles, no caramels, no smarties. In fact, there were only 7 pieces of non-chocolate candy. Wes was in heaven, Nealy and I were not. I will be going to buy her candy later today, it will all be on sale anyway, and she deserves it (and so do I)!

The cute factor

Does it get any better than this? My two little hams know how to work the camera! It's funny how big and old Nealy looks compared to Aidan.

Chilling Out

Nealy and Aidan were caught chilling out together on Sunday. Aidan WAS sporting his own Steeler attire; however he decided to spit up on it before we got a picture! I guess we will try again next Sunday! They were very cute though, Aidan was cooing and Nealy was telling him all about the "guys" that were playing. She's quizzing him already!

Head's Up!

Aidan is getting very strong. He enjoys tummy time every day, even with Nealy joining in on the fun. This morning he kept on rolling from his tummy to his back. I did manage to get a couple pictures of him on his tummy.

Haven't had many opportunities for taking pictures this week. Nealy had her 2 year pictures taken earlier in the week, and I'll post the link to the website once I have it. She was very good, but a little shy. She did, however let me take a picture of her this morning to share.

Zoo Boo

Trick or Treating started early this year. The zoo puts on a zoo boo for the kids to dress up and enjoy the events with the animals. Nealy loved the elephants, and getting candy for her "bucket". The poor kid's allergies are really bad right now, and we probably went too close to nap time, but she seemed to enjoy herself. She loves seeing her friends when we go out! Aidan was a good little pepper and slept the entire time. I'm afraid to think the boy is going through another growth spurt!

A captured smile

I love this stage. Aidan has started cooing and smiling lots the last couple of days. It's extremely hard to get a picture of it, but alas, I managed to get the tail end of a big smile. He is so cute when his tummy isn't upset!

Tub Time

Nealy and Aidan shared a tubby together last night. Aidan was surprisingly calm, and Nealy loved to take charge and help wash her brother.

The Pumpkin Patch

Saturday was the perfect fall day. We took the family to visit the pumpkin patch and to get a chance to go on a hayride. Nealy was thrilled. After visiting the animals, she was able to run on top of hay, hide in a teepee, go through a miniature maze, go on a hayride, and pick out her very own pumpkin! Thank you Miss Dudley for coming with us!

Feel the Love

Nealy is such a big helper with Aidan. She told me this morning that she would "love Aidan", while I fix her some toast. She is such a little momma. Aidan is growing more and more every day, he is now over 13lbs!

Shoes

He may have worn the traditional gown for his baptism, but did you notice his shoes?

Aidan's baptism

Saturday evening Aidan received his first sacrament, Baptism. He mildly protested a few times, but enjoyed the head rub with oil. Thank you to all who shared this special event with us!

A full house

On Saturday we had a very full house. Nealy had her cousins to play with all day long, while all the adults took turns getting some love from Aidan. Everyone was so well behaved, and Nealy received some very cool stuff! It was a fun day, and we were so happy that everyone could come and share it with us.

Thank you Grammie, Lala, Uncle Rob, Aunt CK, Drew, Gabe, Caroline, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Katie!

lessons learned

For Nealy's birthday we took her to Rain Forest Cafe. The last time we were there she had a ball, and talked about waking up the elephants for days. So, we figured it would be a great birthday treat to take her back there... She was so excited and was talking about going all day. She talked about it in the car on the way there... She talked about it while walking to the entrance... Then she saw the alligator... We hadn't seen it the first time we went. The child was terrified. Totally ruined the whole experience. Poor baby.

Lesson learned by her parents: Save your pennies and scare your child for free at home.

Nealy turns two

Nealy's hospital picture

Nealy 12 months

Nealy 2 years

It's hard to believe this is the same baby we brought home. She has changed so much, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. Happy Birthday Nealy!

Swimming lessons

Nealy has been taking swim lessons with Wes this fall. She thoroughly loves the water, and is very comfortable in it. She blows bubbles, goes underwater, jumps in from the side, kicks and splashes the whole time. A smile never leaves her face. Aidan and I went to watch last night. We were very proud of her. Out of all the kids in the class, it's Nealy's voice you hear singing all the songs. Yes, Dad, she got the Dunn pool voice. Little did I realize how hard it would be to get a good picture...oh well!
