Together

The kids love to sit on their little couch together. They love to read together too...Aidan, in his own jabber was reading to Nealy, while she held onto Aidan's puppy he got for his birthday. Nealy seems to forget that it actually belongs to Aidan, and when we inquire about it she assures us that they are sharing!

Taken today, August 27th 2008. One year old! My big boy!

It's hard for me to believe that my baby is already a year old...where did the time go??? He has changed so much over the last year, it's truly amazing that he is the same baby I brought home from the hospital! He has become such a fun kid! His little personality is in full gear, bringing everyone to laughter. Aidan has overcome his reflux issues (thankfully), has learned to walk (almost run now!), he has words...see, kitty cat, Dada, look, and I swear he says "I did it!"...(I'm still waiting to hear him say momma!), he has eight teeth, a full head of hair...and the list goes on. I'm in love. Happy Birthday to my little man!

Aidan's First Birthday! *Picture overload*

You may, or may not notice where Nealy "redesigned" Aidan's cake...

Although Aidan's real birthday isn't until tomorrow, we celebrated on Sunday down at the beach. Wes has a football game on Aidan's birthday, so an early birthday celebration was in order. We packed everyone up and headed down to the beach for a full day of fun in the sun, and although the wind picked up and it was a bit on the cooler side, we still had a fun day. After grilling and eating lunch, we let Aidan have his smash cake (which Nealy helped decorate!). I thought for sure he would dive right in, but instead he took a more mellow approach!

Once we came back from the beach we let him (or Nealy) open his presents. Both kids have really enjoyed the new toys!

We Miss the Beach

"I'm swimming!"
Yum...Sand...does a body good!

Our carefree days at the beach are starting to dwindle. Wes has started coaching football, which is taking up a good portion of our beach hours, and school meetings are starting as well. The kids and I have started going to the YMCA, and we all fear that fall is closer than we would like.
We had a couple hours this afternoon to bring the kids down to the beach, I can't explain how much they LOVE the beach, they are so good, so happy to be there... Here are a couple video clips of Bug going under the water! She was so proud of herself! Please excuse my yelling in the background!

The Circus

Wes joined the kids, as Aidan wouldn't stand still! They are joined by Nealy, Ellie, Olivia, Charlie, and Maizie. What a fun group!

Wes and I often feel like we live in a zoo or circus, and since we have visited the zoo on many occasions, the circus was our next stop. It was a small circus, but regardless, the kids LOVED it. Aidan was pointing at everything...the tent, lights, tigers, elephants, dogs, and all the performers. Nealy loved the elephants best, and being with her friends. They were all so good!

Aidan's turn

Look at my little man...just a week shy of being ONE! (and probably close to getting a first haircut as well!)

Aidan found an old orange stuffed dog that was mine when I was very young. Orange dog was well loved by me, and Aidan took a liking to it for whatever reason. Aidan would throw Orangie, then laugh and run pick him up. It was funny, but I couldn't help feel badly for poor Orangie!

More Nealy...just because!

This face says it all!

Nealy loves braids...and she *usually* will sit still while you braid as well!
Nealy at the beach...our beach days are slowing down now that Daddy is starting work, but we hope to get a few more in before it gets cold!
