A New Playground, and Soccer pics!

We've been taking the kids to a nearby playground after dinner when it's not so stinking hot! They both enjoy it thoroughly! This particular evening they played in the sand volleyball court, found lots of logs, and tired themselves out!
Nealy has been enjoying soccer, not quite as much as her little brother (who by the way is a natural, too bad he has to wait another 6 months!), she likes being out there, and is too darn cute!
Just My Style

Can't say the Schirra children have no style...it's one of a kind style! Aidan loves his train shirt, which was a hand-me-down from the Egan children...don't tell Aidan, he thinks it's Thomas! And Nealy, oh Nealy! She is CONSTANTLY dressing up as a princess! She is extremely into dress up at the moment!

Socks

Aidan had a hard time falling asleep last night, which is common when he takes an afternoon nap these days. With him being in a toddler bed now, he is free to get up and explore a bit more than I'd like, notice the baby wipes on the floor??? and yes, those are socks on his feet and HANDS! What a hoot!

2 Little Monkeys

Some lessons are harder than others. Wes was giving the kids "da-boom-booms" on our bed, when all of a sudden a rather loud crashing sound happened. We had gotten rid of our box springs when we moved from Baltimore, and hadn't replaced them yet. Da-Boom-booming an almost 40lb kid without one broke the bed frame! So, the kids, with Wes, set off to fix our bed! They both actually got to use the drill with Daddy's help as well! They are great helpers, even testing the bed out after he was finished!

Lake Norman...aka The Pond

Staying close by Big Momma...
Aidan is not shy about going in the water by himself anymore...I kind of miss that!
They stayed in the water almost the entire time!
Aidan would venture a little too far for our liking!
the little man
Not Grand Haven sand by any measure, but still fun!Lala and I felt brave on Monday and took the kids to Lake Norman, which supposedly is the largest man made lake. (I was told by locals, I haven't researched myself!) The kids were thrilled to be in the water, although Nealy thought it looked more like a pond than a lake! They enjoyed playing in the water, looking for rocks, and staying cool in the 90 degree heat. Bean, on the other hand, prefers to stay in his/her climate controlled cozy area. An eviction notice may be sent sooner than later...
