All packed and ready to go

Our stop in Tamarack...and a much needed play area

It is a story I'd rather not remember! The kids, Grammie and I packed up last Wednesday to start our trip south. After loading the van as much as possible, and taking advantage of a car top carrier as well, we were on our way (only 2 hours past when we wanted to leave...how typical!). We managed to go about an hour before a certain 3 year old decided a stop was necessary, too much lemonade while she waited! About an hour after that Aidan decided to relieve himself as well, our second stop. And again about 45 minutes later Nealy had to stop again. I honestly thought this may be the longest trip ever and we were still in Michigan! After stopping for dinner both babies relaxed and we were able to get into Ohio and find a hotel for the night. All's well. The next morning things looked good. We got on the road in a timely manner and after driving a while decided to stop to change Aidan, get coffee, potty everyone and fill the gas tank. We were making really good time. All that changed. The van overheated on the Ohio/West Virginia line, we spent 3 hours in the mechanic's waiting room only to find out that the van would not be making the trip with us. After finding a rental van, transferring everything from van to van, we were off again. Finally getting in around 11pm. What a trip. So glad I wasn't alone on the road with the kids! Grammie is on her way back to the van to pick it up and drive it back here...it's been a long trip for her too!
Here's hoping this is the last of the unforeseen circumstances for awhile!
