The Castle Cake...

She insisted on having a castle cake. Wow. I insisted on making it myself. Double wow. Anyway, she was thrilled with the finished project, and I was thrilled that I finished the project! I wasn't completely happy with the way it turned out, I would have done things a bit differently given the opportunity, but nonetheless, I was happy she was happy.

Aidan's First Haircut

It was time. Okay, maybe it was a bit late, but I just dreaded cutting off his beautiful hair, those little curls will probably never come back. Aidan was not thrilled, he actually was voicing his objections throughout most of the cut. However, as you can see from the before pictures...it needed to be done! My little boy is growing up so fast!

New Car...

We got the kids a new car, to share. This was a favorite of Nealy's for awhile now, and I've been looking for what seems like ages for them to either go on sale, or find a good one second hand. Well, I finally found one on Craig's List, which was a few years old, but only used inside. The children are in heaven. It has been a hit for sure!

Outdoor Fun

Taking a walk together
Dancing to the radio
Trying to fix the car...which got left out in the rain...oops.
My pretty girl
And handsome boy

Painting the driveway...they both love when I make sidewalk paint!
Pouring out the paint, thanks Aidan!

I love days like these! The weather is perfect, in the 70's, great for playing outside. The fresh air helps them sleep better, which means I get more sleep too! Today we played with homemade sidewalk paint, and with all our outdoor toys! Yeah!

Time With Daddy

Flying into Daddy's arms

Oh, the books...they will sit and listen to certain books over and over again...
Ganging up on Daddy
Aidan needed some quality time with his Dad, reading Dad's text book...fun stuff!

The kids love Daddy time. Let's face it, they love being rough and playing on the floor, and while I do play that way sometimes, they can really beat Daddy up! They are learning to gang up on him, and I've repeatedly told him to wear a cup as a precaution...he never listens!

A Week in Photos...

Ready for swim class, Aidan sported his new back pack!
Ready to go with Daddy!
The great escape...Aidan made it through the cat door...
Taking after Daddy...he refuses to leave pans in the kitchen!
Trouble with a captital "A"...Chairs are meant to be jungle gyms...
Nealy...pretending to be at the beach. Poor baby, she misses it, as do we all!
I love this one! This was the first time since we moved that the kids saw Sesame Street...together, with those little striped butts!
I need to find some more pics of the girl!

A Day of Firsts

The preparation began, a neat little bun in her hair. She woke Lala up bright and early to do the honors as well!
The finished bun, no small accomplishment either!
My little Bug. She went right on in and sat down to do stretches! Isn't she adorable???
Stretching with the girls as they came in, it is a small class, and some girls are a bit older, Bug looked like such a little peanut!
Not a great picture, Aidan would scream if he saw me! I'll try again another week!
This is really fuzzy, it was taken through the window....

Saturday was a day of firsts. Nealy had her first ballet class, and Aidan started his "Pop and Peanut" swim class with Wes. As for Wes and I, it was the first time our kids needed to be in separate places at the same time. It was a bit shaky, but having been through it once now, next week should run smoother! Nealy was the CUTEST little ballerina, it was so cute watching her get all ready for her class. We had a hard time getting her to sleep the night before, she was so excited! I'm pretty sure she gave her teachers a run for their money, as this was her first class on her own without a parent! She is very excited to go back.

Aidan, was not as thrilled. He has a laundry list of complaints...he didn't sleep well the night before, and was very sensitive...he had a blow out (nice, I know) at the beginning of class and had to be changed in front of everyone...how embarrassing...and the water was a bit chilly! He will be going back again next week, he truly does love the water, and we are hoping that his allergies will subside and he will be better rested and ready to go!

The Tongue

Aidan found his tongue! How fun!

Sleeping with Daddy

We let Wes sleep in over the weekend. Of course, this is not done by himself, Aidan loves to cuddle up, and Nealy was a bit jealous when she found them!

Beaching at night...

Our beach days are few and far between. With Wes busy with school and football during the day, we took the kids one evening for a quick dip. It was perfect, and we didn't want to leave! Going to the beach in the late afternoon/early evening brings back so many memories for me! As I sit and write this, it is rainy and gray outside...we are already missing our beach days!
