We Miss the Beach

"I'm swimming!"
Yum...Sand...does a body good!

Our carefree days at the beach are starting to dwindle. Wes has started coaching football, which is taking up a good portion of our beach hours, and school meetings are starting as well. The kids and I have started going to the YMCA, and we all fear that fall is closer than we would like.
We had a couple hours this afternoon to bring the kids down to the beach, I can't explain how much they LOVE the beach, they are so good, so happy to be there... Here are a couple video clips of Bug going under the water! She was so proud of herself! Please excuse my yelling in the background!

The Circus

Wes joined the kids, as Aidan wouldn't stand still! They are joined by Nealy, Ellie, Olivia, Charlie, and Maizie. What a fun group!

Wes and I often feel like we live in a zoo or circus, and since we have visited the zoo on many occasions, the circus was our next stop. It was a small circus, but regardless, the kids LOVED it. Aidan was pointing at everything...the tent, lights, tigers, elephants, dogs, and all the performers. Nealy loved the elephants best, and being with her friends. They were all so good!

Aidan's turn

Look at my little man...just a week shy of being ONE! (and probably close to getting a first haircut as well!)

Aidan found an old orange stuffed dog that was mine when I was very young. Orange dog was well loved by me, and Aidan took a liking to it for whatever reason. Aidan would throw Orangie, then laugh and run pick him up. It was funny, but I couldn't help feel badly for poor Orangie!

More Nealy...just because!

This face says it all!

Nealy loves braids...and she *usually* will sit still while you braid as well!
Nealy at the beach...our beach days are slowing down now that Daddy is starting work, but we hope to get a few more in before it gets cold!

Sibling Love

Aidan was desperate, we had all read to him over and over...he found a new victim...his sister! She was thrilled to be "reading" to Aidan, and she knew all the words too!

Nealy, being Nealy

Nealy hanging out with her Dad and Mr. David...
Laughing at a joke...she is such a good sport that way. I think that's why they liked having her around!
I'm not sure about this one, they were singing the theme to Sesame Street.
So happy to be included!

The Grand Parade

Nealy wearing Lala's crown...what a princess!

Aidan didn't quite make it through the whole parade, he slept through marching bands, sirens, and more!
Dancing in the street to the Clown Band. Dancing with Daddy!
It was a long afternoon, he fell asleep holding onto his flag, (which I did get away after I snapped a picture:)...He was a tired little man!

Last Saturday we watched the Coast Guard Festival Parade. This is a two hour parade filled with lots of floats, bands, and most importantly CANDY! We were a bit low key this year, Nealy missed her cousins, and hope they make it next year!

The Carnival

Going down the slide with Daddy...
The little roller coaster, which was one of her favorites!
On the carousel with Daddy, Aidan, and Ellie.
The big bus...She looks thrilled doesn't she???
Aidan and Charlie...poor kids, they were stuck in their strollers!

We went to the carnival with a friend of mine from elementary school, she has four girls, and they all got along so well. Bug loved having some one closer to her size to ride with!

Starting Young

Aidan's been hanging out with Daddy too much lately. He is obsessed with beer...oh the years that come could be interesting!

Sand Friends...

I'm not sure exactly what he was doing, but he thought it was VERY funny...bucket head!
Nealy and Aidan playing together...sort of.
Relaxing with a snack...she loves to people watch!
We even convinced Grammie to come down to the beach for a little while, and of course, they insisted that she read to them!
"That was SO FUNNY!"
Aidan and Lala...what a lady's man I have!

AL the Alligator...guarding the hole the kids were playing in.
Myrtle the Turtle
Nealy was very proud of her alligator...
Aidan was fixing it for his dad.
Myrtle and Al together...
We had been having some issues with people infringing upon our beach space, so much in fact, that one family actually sat on Nealy's sand mountain after moving her toys off it! Not anymore...now we have our sand friends to guard our space. Wes has really done a great job with them! And Nealy will tell everyone who passes that they are HERS!

My Chubby Man

Aidan's showing off his mohawk. He is such a fun, happy baby!
