Aidan Naps

Aidan fell asleep during a walk this afternoon, and slept peacefully on Lala for quite a while. I knew he was pretty sound asleep when he stretched, like he would in his bed, and stayed asleep standing up on Lala! What a funny little man!

New Firsts!

Getting ready for Bean, both Nealy and Aidan took turns carrying around a baby today!

This week had it's fair share of firsts for us Schirra's!

Nealy had her first soccer practice, which I hear she did very well. Aidan was a bit upset that he wasn't going, but he is still 6 months too young!

Aidan, to lessen the sting of missing out on soccer, got to be the first to try out the tub in the master bath. He LOVED it and literally soaked it all up!
And even Bean, after my doctor's appointment on Wed. we found out that I am 4 cm and 50%! That is a first for me, being that we were only 36 1/2 weeks! Maybe this will be my first early baby????

Recent Happenings

All cuddled up for movie night.
Aidan on the train, a little worried to be by himself.
At the carnival riding the cars...of course
Grammie and me with the kids. Bean doesn't look that big to me here...what a great angle!
Grammie and the kids
Nealy and Grammie at the parade
Walking to the parade, it was SO HOT

We've been playing in the pool on the deck. The water heated up VERY quickly!

Goofy Nealy with the Altoona Curve hat.
Both kids have taken turns sleeping on the floor. It took Aidan a couple nights to get used to his big boy bed!

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. So much going on and settling in to do, plus I've been tired, very tired! The kids are loving their new house, and having their Daddy back. We are still having some mourning for friends/places in MI from Buggy. Hopefully we will be able to plug her into some activities here soon so she can make some new friends!

The Last Night...A little Late!

The kids and I enjoyed our last night in Grand Haven like anyone should, a Pronto Pup on the waterfront, and some ice cream! We are all missing Grand Haven already!

The Moving Story...

All packed and ready to go
Lala making sure the car top carrier is secure
Waiting at the car shop, Aidan loved all the tires

Our stop in Tamarack...and a much needed play area

It is a story I'd rather not remember! The kids, Grammie and I packed up last Wednesday to start our trip south. After loading the van as much as possible, and taking advantage of a car top carrier as well, we were on our way (only 2 hours past when we wanted to leave...how typical!). We managed to go about an hour before a certain 3 year old decided a stop was necessary, too much lemonade while she waited! About an hour after that Aidan decided to relieve himself as well, our second stop. And again about 45 minutes later Nealy had to stop again. I honestly thought this may be the longest trip ever and we were still in Michigan! After stopping for dinner both babies relaxed and we were able to get into Ohio and find a hotel for the night. All's well. The next morning things looked good. We got on the road in a timely manner and after driving a while decided to stop to change Aidan, get coffee, potty everyone and fill the gas tank. We were making really good time. All that changed. The van overheated on the Ohio/West Virginia line, we spent 3 hours in the mechanic's waiting room only to find out that the van would not be making the trip with us. After finding a rental van, transferring everything from van to van, we were off again. Finally getting in around 11pm. What a trip. So glad I wasn't alone on the road with the kids! Grammie is on her way back to the van to pick it up and drive it back here...it's been a long trip for her too!

Here's hoping this is the last of the unforeseen circumstances for awhile!

Aidan's 2nd Birthday!

Happy Birthday Aidan!
The excitement!
Deep breath..
Blowing out his candles
LEGOS!
Ball Game shirts, and a Mickey Mouse shirt...and he made sure we all knew they were HIS clothes
Lots of new cars
New balls too!

I still can't believe my baby boy has turned two. He is definitely a two year old! We had a little celebration among all the unpacking going on. He loved his cake and thoroughly enjoyed opening his presents this year! Nealy was a bit disappointed that he didn't need her help, and we assured her that her turn is coming up very soon! So for the next 6 weeks we have a two year old and a three year old! Happy Birthday Bubba! We love you!
